Implementation Science Projects
Implementation Science research seeks to create generalizable knowledge that can be applied across settings and contexts to answer different questions. As defined by the Annual NIH conference on Implementation and Dissemination, implementation science is "the use of strategies to adopt and integrate evidence-based health interventions and change practice patterns within specific settings." Research on implementation addresses the level to which health interventions can fit within real world public health and clinical service systems.
The CIHEB global research program provides comprehensive technical assistance to public health implementation programs throughout the world by conducting infectious disease epidemiology and clinical research to strengthen health systems and directly improve the public’s health. Findings from these and other research projects are utilized to design and stage Implementation Science projects that evaluate the public health feasibility and impact of new health interventions--especially their impact and applicability within resource-constrained settings.
