Epidemiological Research Projects

Much of CIHEB's global epidemiological research is focused on key and vulnerable populations. Key populations are disproportionally affected by HIV and infectious diseases and while they make up about 1% of the world population, they carry approximately 23% of the HIV disease burden. Vulnerable populations, like mothers and children, minors, and prisoners, are a disadvantaged sub-segment of communities that need special services for prevention and treatment.

CIHEB brings a world-renowned, multi-disciplinary group of researchers focused on population-based studies designed to identify new, foundational disease knowledge, define best practices through evidence-based prevention and treatment studies, and translate findings into feasible and scalable approaches to directly improve the health of communities.
