Building Sustainable Local Capacity
CIHEB employs more than 250 local employees across professional and program support roles in project implementation countries. This is the result of a deliberate, coordinated approach to enhancing, building and sustaining local expertise and capacity to ensure long term viability and effectiveness of projects implemented. CIHEB trains, mentors and equips these personnel to function in the local contexts whilst constantly incorporating best practices and innovative, effective interventions developed at HQ, in other countries and within other projects.
In addition to securing and training local personnel, a great amount of emphasis is placed on training and building the capacity of country based health workers at local facilities, organizations and government agencies.
CIHEB works to ensure the capacity of whole systems are built to sustain local interventions.
